CreeperParty

Hey guys,

so I'm thinking heavily about what the best way to go forward is. I really am having a hard time with finding time to help maintain things right now, so what I want to do is set things up so that the admins can do basic updates etc without my intervention, and basically give them the tools they need to keep things ticking over.

I also think that the core idea of CreeperParty: A survival server with creative aspects is still good, and we need to encourage that. But we need to probably move away from any kind of structure economy, not because it wasn't working, but because simply there are too many plugins involved.

What I'd like to do is start two fresh maps; a new survival world and a creative world, and allow members to switch between the two. I'm not sure how that would work yet, but I'm researching it and playing with plugins to see how I can do it simply.

The other thing people need to be aware of is that bukkit as we know it probably will stop being updated - or its updates may take longer - because the bukkit team have moved to Mojang. I don't know what that means for servers like CP.

Let me know what you think, and what you'd like to see us do.

I'd say there will be more few servers updating over this weekend.
With the new jungle biome and extra build height it's a good update.

If we are lucky, and matjam still wuvs us, there might be a vanilla map
(with a snowless spawn!) on the cards, but don't hold your breath.

I'm of the opinion that if we don't see any change here on CP that it
will fade into the sunset.

All those (barring mods and admins) who are online on Christmas day (Australian Eastern Standard Daylight Savings Time) will receive a random gift from an admin. In the spirit of the holiday season. The gifts will be in-game items, not memberships or subscriptions... Just to clarify.

Hi Everyone. Dogmode has been very diligently working on the new spawn. The new official spawn is now in the city of Havenport.

The city is still new but will be evolving rapidly with things like shops etc.

Residences may or may not be available in the near future.

As all of you know, the free hosting that we enjoyed on the old server was cut short. I suspect this was because the server was DDoS'd, but I cannot be sure. I've had many people ask me since bringing the site back, how they could help pay for the new server hosting Creeper Party.

I'm happy to announce that our VIP plans are now available. Obviously, the various perks may change, but for now that's what they are.

Make sure you read the plan page, and then if you would like to help pay for Creeper Party's server hosting costs, head on into the Account Upgrades page in your Profile, and purchase one of the upgrades there.

I did test upgrades before I released it but if you have any problems make sure you let me know in this thread

Hey guys, you can connect to the server now

The old hostname, mc.creeperparty.net will still work, but you can just use creeperparty.net to connect now.

As I will be messing with stuff, installing plugins, configuring things, the server is going to be unstable while I do that, and the map is only temporary.

Make sure you follow the instructions in this thread before you try to connect to the server!
